Unexpected but common cause of your bags spoiling

Updated: Jan 27, 2022

It is extremely humid in Singapore, and that can cause our leather products to develop mold and our patent leather items to become sticky. In response, most of us try to protect our leather by using moisture absorber packs for storage.

It may seem like a good idea at first, however, storage is a process for the long haul. If left for long periods, the content of moisture absorber packs becomes liquid and can leak at the slightest tilt. The chemicals in this liquid can damage your leather items if it comes into contact with your leather goods because the chemical is very corrosive.

Damage ranges from mild deformity or dark irremovable stains to permanent shrinkage and hardening. Thus, irreversibly spoiling your precious leather products. Take a look at some of the rescues we did, a Hermes Birkin and Chanel Tote was utterly deformed and in need of restoration.
