Yesterday afternoon, we were out at Ikea getting some extra furniture for the workshop.
Recently I find the workshop very messy.... (sorry can't show any messy photos of the workshop here) and I think it would help if we add more shelving racks for the crafters to place the bags.
Jimmy also wish to get some extra strong lights for the workshop to work on the minute details for the bags.
So off to Ikea we go! (Sorry not very glamorous but here goes the photos)
In the end, we settled for a very useful 5-layers rack. We decided to skip the lights as they were all pretty low powered and not really bright enough.
This rack is only about $90? Quite worth it right?
Meanwhile at the workshop, we were trying to help a customer "reverse" a blind deboss on a leather Fossil wallet.
Blind deboss is when you letterpress onto the leather without any ink. Something like this:
For such blind deboss, the leather surface is already modified so its not easy to get it restored.
We tried it on the wallet and I personally don't really like the result.... Can you tell that work has been done on the wallet?
The name which was previously debossed onto the wallet is now completely gone. But the surface of the leather looks pretty uneven.
On the other hand, here's a LV bag with a change of leather!
Doesn't the bag look almost like a new one again? Do you know the bag was actually over 20 years old? Isn't it amazing?
For LV bags, the monogram canvas is actually very durable. Most wear and tear problems occur on the Vachetta leather.
Once you replace the Vachetta leather, the whole bag becomes new again.
Do you have an old LV bag? Dont chuck it away just yet, you can change the leather and gift it away to someone or safe keep them for many years to come :)
As a guide, the above LV bag leather replacement cost just $289, duration around 6 - 8 weeks. If you are keen, get in touch with my team at 97879271 (whatsapp) or drop by with your bag directly at Raffles City Shopping Centre #02-08/08A.
Okay that's all from me for now. Talk soon!
